Description
This lot consists of approximately thirty to forty antique or vintage wooden hand plane bodies contained in a clear plastic storage bin. The planes are constructed of dark, aged hardwood. Some retain partial iron blades and original wooden wedges. Impressed maker’s marks are visible on several bodies, possibly reading “PETERS” or “PETER L.”. The planes exhibit heavy wear, chipping, grime, and surface discoloration to the wood, as well as rust and corrosion on the remaining metal elements.
Condition report:
Fair to Poor. Showing heavy wear, chipping, grime, surface discoloration, rust, and corrosion. Many plane bodies are missing blades and other components.
