A Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) Ukiyo-e woodblock print triptych by Yōshū Chikanobu (1868-1912). This *senso-e* (war print) depicts a dynamic battle scene, rendered in ink and color on paper. The composition features figures in both traditional and Western-style military attire amidst large waves and a coastline. The central panel includes a prominent cartouche with Japanese text reading “鹿児島戦図” (Kagoshima Senzu – Kagoshima Battle Picture) and “勇婦奮力” (Yūfu Funryoku – Brave Women Exerting Themselves). The right panel bears the artist’s signature cartouche “楊洲周延筆” (Yōshū Chikanobu hitsu), accompanied by additional smaller seals and marks.
