Description

A Japanese woodblock print triptych, depicting a large ceremonial procession of figures, some carrying a crane, moving through a rural landscape with a bridge, river, and various buildings. Printed on paper in multiple colors. Visible text includes cartouches with Japanese characters in the upper right, upper center, and upper left of the respective panels. A vertical inscription near the lower right of the rightmost panel includes the date ‘安政四年卯’ (Ansei 4, 1857). A red rectangular museum collection stamp ‘太田記念美術館蔵’ (Ota Memorial Museum of Art Collection) is visible on the lower left of the leftmost panel.

Condition report:

The print exhibits generally vibrant colors in the primary view, with minor age-related toning and subtle creases. However, there is extensive fading and discoloration across all three panels, consistent with significant light exposure.
