Description

A long, highly curved, single-edged polished steel blade, consistent with a Japanese naginata, presented in a shirasaya-style mounting. The blade exhibits a distinct hamon and is secured by a golden-toned habaki. It is fitted with a plain, light-colored wooden handle (tsuka) and accompanied by a custom-fitted, matching curved wooden scabbard (saya). Also included is a cream-colored Japanese authentication paper (Kanteisho) issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK), dated Heisei 1 (1989), featuring extensive Japanese text, a red seal, and a silver foil emblem.


Condition report:

The polished steel blade appears in excellent condition with minimal visible flaws. The wooden handle and scabbard exhibit minor handling wear but are otherwise well-preserved. The authentication paper is well-preserved.
