Description
Two modern British Royal Mail First Day Covers on paper. The first First Day Cover, postmarked July 28, 2022, celebrates the “Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games” with a vibrant, abstract graphic design depicting various sports including cycling, weightlifting, and running on its stamps and cover. The interior of this cover lists a comprehensive array of sports such as lawn bowls, table tennis, netball, hockey, rugby sevens, judo, squash, triathlon, and wrestling. The second First Day Cover, postmarked October 19, 2021, is themed “Rugby Union” and features black and white photographic stamps depicting historic matches from events including the Five Nations Championship (1994), Women’s Six Nations Championship (2009), and the Rugby World Cup Final (2003). This cover bears a printed recipient address for “Mrs Susan Lane” in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. All visible text is in English.
