Description
William III (1694-1702), silver Sixpence, 1697, third laureate and draped bust right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III. DEI. GRA., rev. crowned cruciform shields, large crowns, Lion of Nassau at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG BR.FRA ET.HIB REX. (Bull 1233; ESC 1566; S.3538). A superb example with strong residual mint lustre, graded by CGS as UNC 80. Victoria (1837-1901), silver Sixpence, 1856, First young head left, legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, toothed border surround, rev. crowned mark of value within oak wreath, date below, edge milled, (ESC 1702; Bull 3196; Davies 1053; S.3908). Lightly toned with much brilliance, slabbed and graded by CGS as UNC 80. Victoria (1837-1901), silver Sixpence, 1889, Jubilee crowned bust left, with initials J.E.B. in field below bust, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITT: REGINA F: D:, rev. crowned words of value within laurel and oak wreath, date below (ESC 1757; Bull 3279; Davies 1164; S.3929). Unevenly toned, slabbed and graded by CGS as UNC 85. Edward VII (1901-10), silver Sixpence, 1903, bare head right, DES below truncation for engraver George William De Saulles, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, EDWARDVS VII D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP: rev. crowned mark of value within laurel and oak wreath, date below (ESC. 1787; Bull 3599; Davies 1571; S.3983). Some toning, slabbed and graded by CGS as UNC 85. George V (1910-36), silver Sixpence, 1918, bare head left, BM on truncation for engraver Bertram MacKennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX, rev. lion standing left on crown, date either side, linear circle around with Latin legend in upper half, FID: DEF: IND: IMP:, denomination SIXPENCE in lower periphery, (ESC 1803; Bull 3879; Davies 1870; S.4014). Toned, slabbed and graded by CGS as UNC85.
