Clive hands a dolphin-headed staff to Mir Jafar, INIVRIES. ATTONED. PRIVILEGE. AVGMENTED. TERRITORY. ACQVIRED. in exergue, A. SOVBAH. GIVEN. TO. BENGAL. MDCCLVIII, 40mm, 25.18g (MI ii 683/400; Eimer 655; Eimer Pingo 30; Puddester 757). Light cabinet wear to high points, the die crack in its early stages, extremely fine.
Condition report:
While all examples exhibit a die crack in the obverse exergue, the present medal\'s die crack is in its early stages suggesting this is one of the earliest strikes.
