Calendar year mintage of 91,345.The Latin legend translates as Victoria by the grace of God, on obverse and as Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith on the reverse.The 1887 gold Two Pounds was only the second currency piece ever produced, with the previous being that dated 1823 in the reign of George IV; and was minted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Victoria\'s reign.
