Description
A Royal Air Force commemorative “Special Edition” card dedicated to the Avro Lancaster and No. 582 Squadron. The card features a printed double-line border in blue and identifies the squadron’s English motto translation, “We fly before marking” (the Latin motto being Praevolamus Designantes). The card is hand-signed in black ink by Flight Lieutenant Robert Pengilley, DFC. No. 582 Squadron was a specialised heavy bomber squadron formed in 1944 as part of the elite No. 8 (Pathfinder Force) Group.
