Description

A modern commemorative Special Edition card honouring the service of the Avro Lancaster bomber and No. 83 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. The card features blue printed typography within a double-line border, including the squadron motto Strike to Defend. Centred on the card is the original graphite signature of Warrant Officer Steve Bethell, who served as an Air Gunner (A/G) during the Second World War. No. 83 Squadron was a distinguished unit, notably serving within the Pathfinder Force. The printed footer confirms the provenance, stating the card was personally signed by a veteran who flew in the Lancaster in Europe. Transcription: AVRO LANCASTER; No. 83 Squadron Royal Air Force; Strike to Defend; Steve Bethell. A/G.; Warrant Officer S. Bethell. Dimensions: 148mm x 210mm.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, near-mint condition. The paper stock is a bright, clean white with no signs of foxing, toning, or age-related discolouration. The edges are sharp and the corners remain crisp. There are no visible folds, tears, or creases. The signature is bold and well-preserved.
