Description
This is a commemorative special edition card produced to honour the history of the Avro Lancaster heavy bomber and the personnel of No. 626 Squadron, Royal Air Force. The card is printed on heavy white textured cardstock and features a double-line border. It is hand-signed in black ink by Squadron Leader Douglas “Doug” Joss, MBE. Joss was a distinguished veteran pilot who completed a full tour of operations with 626 Squadron during the Second World War, flying from RAF Wickenby. He was later recognised with an MBE for his significant contributions to the Air Training Corps. The card includes the squadron’s official motto, To Strive and not to Yield. Condition report:
The card is in excellent condition. The paper remains bright and clean with no evidence of foxing, staining, or age-related yellowing. There are no visible tears, creases, or corner bumps. The signature is clear and unfaded. The item has been well-preserved within a protective plastic sleeve.
