Description

A Royal Air Force Special Edition commemorative card dedicated to the Vickers Wellington medium bomber. The card is hand-signed in pencil by Warrant Officer F. Elliott, who served with No. 192 Squadron during the Second World War. No. 192 Squadron was a highly specialised unit within No. 100 (Bomber Support) Group, tasked with Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) duties. Operating from RAF Foulsham, the squadron utilised specially modified Vickers Wellingtons to identify and jam German radar and communications, providing essential support for Bomber Command’s night-time offensives. The card features the squadron motto, Dare to discover, and confirms Elliott’s service in the European Theatre of Operations. Such cards were typically issued in limited numbers as part of aviation art portfolios or commemorative series.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, near-mint condition. The cardstock remains bright and clean with no signs of foxing or yellowing. The blue printed typography is crisp and the pencil signature is bold and clearly legible. The item is housed in a protective clear plastic sleeve.
