Description

A modern Special Edition commemorative autograph presentation sheet, personally signed in original ink by Flight Lieutenant D. Evans, DFC. The card is dedicated to No. 10 Squadron, Royal Air Force, and its association with the Handley Page Halifax heavy bomber during the Second World War. Flight Lieutenant Evans was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), a prestigious gallantry award issued to officers for acts of valour, courage, or devotion to duty whilst flying in active operations against the enemy. During the conflict, No. 10 Squadron served with distinction as part of No. 4 Group, Bomber Command. The card features the squadron’s official motto, “To hit the mark”, and includes a descriptive paragraph at the base confirming the authenticity of the signature as that of a veteran who flew the Halifax in the European theatre. This piece represents a significant item of militaria ephemera for collectors specialising in RAF Bomber Command history and gallantry recipients.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, near-mint condition. It has been well-preserved within a clear plastic protective sleeve, ensuring the white cardstock remains free from foxing, toning, or handling wear. The ink signature is bold, clear, and shows no signs of UV fading or smudging. The printed blue double-border and text remain sharp and vibrant.
