Description

A Royal Air Force Special Edition commemorative card dedicated to the Short Stirling heavy bomber. The card is personally signed in black ink by Warrant Officer R. Brown, a veteran who flew operations in the Short Stirling with No. 218 (Gold Coast) Squadron during the Second World War. No. 218 Squadron holds significant historical importance as the first RAF unit to be equipped with the Short Stirling, the first of the British four-engine heavy bombers to enter service. The squadron was designated Gold Coast in recognition of the financial contributions made by the people of the Gold Coast colony towards the purchase of aircraft. The card features the squadron motto, In time, and printed text confirming the signatory’s service history.

Condition report:

Excellent. The card is in pristine condition with no evidence of foxing, toning, or edge wear. The signature remains bold and clear. Presented in a protective plastic display sleeve.
