Description

This commemorative Special Edition signed card honours the Second World War service of the legendary Royal Navy test pilot Captain Eric Winkle Brown, CBE, DSC, AFC, FRAeS. The printed card features a double-line black border with green and black text referencing the Grumman Martlet aircraft and No. 802 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm, including the unit motto First to Strike. Centred on the card is a hand-signed autograph by Captain Brown in blue ink. A statement at the bottom certifies the piece as personally signed by a veteran of the squadron who flew the Martlet during the conflict. Captain Brown is distinguished as the Fleet Air Arm’s most decorated pilot and for holding the world record for the most aircraft types flown. This modern commemorative item is printed on white card stock and serves as a formal aviation collectable documenting the service of a highly decorated naval officer and his association with a specific wartime aircraft and unit.
