This piece is hand-signed in black ink by Flying Officer Vic Farmer, a veteran who served with the unit during the European theatre of operations in the Second World War. No. 550 Squadron operated out of RAF North Killingholme as part of No. 1 Group, Bomber Command, and is well-regarded for its significant contribution to the strategic bombing campaign. The card features the squadron’s motto, Through fire we conquer, and includes printed verification of the signature’s authenticity. Such items were frequently produced for veteran associations and commemorative events, providing a direct link to the aircrews of Bomber Command. The card is constructed from heavy white cardstock with a formal decorative border. Dimensions: Approximately 210mm x 148mm.

Condition report:

The item is in excellent, near-mint condition. The white cardstock remains bright with no evidence of foxing, creasing, or yellowing. The signature is bold and clear with no ink migration or fading. The card is currently housed in a clear plastic protective sleeve which has preserved the edges and surfaces from handling wear.
