Description

A Royal Air Force “Special Edition” commemorative card dedicated to the Avro Lancaster heavy bomber. This item features the original ink signature of Air Commodore Charles Clarke, OBE (1923–2019). He was subsequently interned as a Prisoner of War at Stalag Luft III, where he was involved in the preparations for the “Great Escape” and later survived the “Long March” of January 1945. Post-war, he enjoyed a distinguished career in the RAF and served as a prominent member of the RAF Ex-POW Association. The card is printed with unit details and a brief testimonial of the veteran’s service.
