A modern commemorative ephemera card honouring the Avro Lancaster bomber and the service of No. 460 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) during the Second World War. This special edition card features the squadron motto, Strike and return, and is hand-signed in black ink by Warrant Officer D.G. (Dave) Fellowes. Fellowes was a notable veteran who served as a tail gunner with No. 460 Squadron in the European theatre. The squadron is historically significant for being the most decorated Australian heavy bomber unit of the war. The card includes printed text confirming the signature is from a veteran who flew in the Lancaster.
