Description

A professionally produced Special Edition commemorative card, personally signed by Warrant Officer Jack Cook of the Royal Air Force. The card honours the service of No. 100 Squadron and the iconic Avro Lancaster heavy bomber during the Second World War. No. 100 Squadron, a prominent unit within No. 1 Group Bomber Command, operated Lancasters from RAF Waltham (Grimsby) from early 1943 through to the end of hostilities, participating in numerous night-bombing operations over occupied Europe. The card features the squadron’s official motto, Never stir up a hornets nest, and includes a printed attribution and statement of authenticity confirming that the signatory was a veteran who flew in the Lancaster during the European campaign. The signature is executed in black ink and is a fine example of contemporary veteran ephemera.
