Description
This is a special edition commemorative ephemera card produced in the late 20th century, likely for an aviation historical society or veterans’ association. The card is hand-signed in pencil by Squadron Leader Allan Scott, DFM, a notable Royal Air Force veteran. The card commemorates the De Havilland Hornet aircraft and its service with No. 27 Maintenance Unit. The Hornet was a high-performance twin-engine fighter that represented the pinnacle of piston-engine technology for the RAF in the post-war era. Scott is identified here as a test pilot for the type.
