Description

A Special Edition commemorative card relating to the Supermarine Spitfire, hand-signed in pencil by Squadron Leader Peter Hearne, DFC. This card was originally issued as part of the Matchbox Collectibles Platinum Edition series. The document features the insignia and motto of No. 65 (East India) Squadron, By force of arms. Squadron Leader Hearne was a highly distinguished Royal Air Force pilot who flew Spitfires and Mustangs during the Second World War, later receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross for his gallantry and devotion to duty.
