Description

A Special Edition aviation commemorative card dedicated to the Hawker Hurricane and its service with No. 135 Squadron, Royal Air Force. The card features the squadron motto, We show our wings everywhere, and is personally signed in blue ink by Group Captain Eric Batchelar. Group Captain Batchelar was a veteran pilot who flew the Hawker Hurricane during the Burma Campaign in the South East Asia Theatre (SEAC). No. 135 Squadron arrived in India in 1942 and played a vital role in the air defence of the region and ground attack operations against Japanese forces. Such signatures from veterans of the Forgotten Army and associated air units are highly sought after by collectors of RAF and SEAC memorabilia.
