Description

A Special Edition Royal Air Force commemorative card celebrating the Hawker Hurricane and its distinguished service during the Second World War. This item is hand-signed in black ink by Flight Lieutenant L. Dennahy, a veteran pilot who flew the Hurricane with No. 134 Squadron within the South East Asia theatre. The card features the printed title HAWKER HURRICANE in green, alongside the unit designation No. 134 Squadron Royal Air Force and the squadron motto, We shall fly through hardships. No. 134 Squadron played a vital role in the air campaign over India and Burma, serving as part of the South East Asia Command (SEAC). In this theatre, the Hurricane was utilised extensively in ground-attack and fighter-bomber roles, providing crucial support against Japanese forces. This card serves as a poignant link to the pilots of the so-called Forgotten Army.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, near-mint condition. There are no visible signs of foxing, creasing, or light-fading to the card stock or the printed text. The signature of Flight Lieutenant Dennahy remains clear, bold, and unfaded. The item has been well-preserved and is currently housed in a protective clear plastic sleeve.
