Description

A professionally produced special edition commemorative card dedicated to the Hawker Hurricane and its operational service with No. 274 Squadron, Royal Air Force. The card features the squadron motto, I overcome, and highlights its role during the Desert Campaign in North Africa. This example is hand-signed in blue ink by Flight Lieutenant H.H. Harry Moon, who has added his unit inscription 274 Sqn below his signature. Flt Lt Moon was a veteran pilot who flew Hurricanes with No. 274 Squadron in the Western Desert; the squadron holds the distinction of being the first unit in the Middle East to be equipped with the type. Historical records suggest Moon also served with No. 249 Squadron during the Defence of Malta, making this a significant piece of Mediterranean theatre aviation ephemera.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, clean condition with crisp edges and no evidence of foxing, toning, or creasing. The signature is bold and remains clear without fading. The item is currently housed in a clear protective plastic sleeve for preservation.
