Description

A Royal Air Force commemorative Special Edition card dedicated to the de Havilland Mosquito multi-role combat aircraft. The card is printed on white stock with a double-line blue border and identifies the unit as No. 608 (North Riding) Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force, featuring the squadron motto With all talons. It is hand-signed in black ink by veteran Warrant Officer D. Maywood (signed Dick Maywood). No. 608 Squadron operated Mosquitoes from August 1944 as part of the Light Night Striking Force within No. 8 Group (Pathfinder Force), Bomber Command. Operating from RAF Downham Market, the squadron was involved in high-speed, high-altitude precision bombing raids against German industrial targets, including the frequent Mosquito raids on Berlin.
