Description

This is a Special Edition commemorative collector’s card dedicated to the Hawker Hurricane, a cornerstone of British aerial defence during the Second World War. The card is personally hand-signed in blue ink by Flying Officer J. Byrne, who served with No. 56 Operational Training Unit (OTU) in Europe. The signature is accompanied by the date 1943, referencing the veteran’s period of service during the conflict. No. 56 OTU was formed in 1941, based primarily at RAF Tealing, and was tasked with the vital role of training fighter pilots on the Hawker Hurricane. The card features clean typography and a crisp double-line border, providing a direct link to the pilots who operated these iconic aircraft.

Condition report:

The card is in excellent, as-new condition with no signs of foxing, creasing, or age-related wear. The typography and borders are sharp, and the blue ink signature remains bold and clear. The item is currently housed in a clear protective plastic sleeve.
